I think it will block the light getting into the room.

There is another window that faces the carport that allows plenty of light but not visible from the patio

I think it will just look like you're trying to nice something. I think it's not unreasonable forthat window to be there and it matches rest of house and doesn't appear to be a bathroom which might generate privacy issues.
I suspect once you've tarted up the rest of the space you won't even notice it.

You could put pot plants as in photos below but in the outside of the window. They won’t block the light and would dress it up.

How about some taller potted olive trees in front of it? They won’t block too much light but will distract the eye enough to make the window less obvious

The window is fine with that style of design. It's the the face brick that lets it down. If you were to have it rendered the whole area would tie together nicely

I’d change the Venetian blinds to some something nicer

I think putting a big screen in front of it will just draw attention to what you are hiding. Instead of trying to hide it, draw attention away from it so it just sort of fades from your view, hiding it in plain sight so to speak. So some hanging baskets hanging from the beams and some larger potted plants on the floor in front, they will draw the focus and you won't notice the window.

I'd move the rectangular black pot of mother-in-laws tongue and the potted agave to the right so they sit under the window. And I would choose a plant with some dynamic colour like fuschia so it draws the eye forward. I think some other plants with colour to highlight the foliage you have would be nice too.
