Before & After: A Colourful Garden Transformation with Personality

My client wanted a unique garden that matched the impeccable taste of her newly renovated townhouse- something that would flow from interior to exterior and could be enjoyed day and night.

We playfully incorporated sculptural detail not only in the use of different planting textures but also in a vivid red metal artwork to add vigour and detail into her garden spaces.

For the rear courtyards, we kept the shape of the existing garden beds as they made the space feel larger and less angular than it really was. We incorporated raised garden beds to address the extreme macroclimate in her living spaces (heat). Both the front garden and rear garden get a lot of sun and a lot of thought was put into the planting scheme to make it work.

The scope of the project was extended twice. Once was to resurface and modernise the frontage steps. In order to achieve that we researched paving material that would tie into the rest of the renovation. To top if off, we added a little bit of night glamour by incorporating motion- detecting LED strip lighting into the steps.

The second scope extension was to add a mural on the garage door that was fun and reflected unique elements of the garden like the little penguins and the birds of paradise!

This project came together in a way that reflects the playfulness and adventure of the client, especially the colourful mural that delights my client, her neighbours, and passerby alike!
