You need to save some inspiration pics in your ideas book here on Houzz and also on Pinterest. It will help you focus your vision, and help us make suggestions on what style your like. Also you need to repaint first - that yellow will over shadow your end vision.

I agree with bigreader, paint the walls first - it will need to be a colour that goes with the warm coloured floor tiles. Don't get a cool colour or it will look wrong. I'd suggest white with a warm undertone.

At the moment it all looks a bit disjointed because nothing matches - there are 3 different types of wood to start off with - buffet, table and blinds - if you replace the blinds with curtains that will help.

A very large rug that the table and chairs can sit on will also help bring everything together.

The first thing I thought was the yellow isn't working in that room, so I agree with repainting that first.

Natural white walls, or similar, if you want to keep shutters paint to match buffet. Add curtains that both are much wider than wall and to floor to add some texture and make the window seem larger. Consider whether the table needs to be turned 90 degrees, this will depend on room size I can’t tell. At the moment proportions seem to be out with the the big art display on one wall. But again difficult to judge from pictures. As pendant over table would help.

I think your grid wall accentuates the grout lines in your tiles. I think you need to paint and change window coverings. Take down shutters and replace with curtains as you have too many hard surfaces.

try a big rug under the table with some colour and pattern to complement the timber shutters and the big planter

Big rug would change the feel of the room, as well as new paint on wall and if you are keeping the plantation blinds, a coat of white paint would work much better... large vas with flowers on the table is always a success and some accessories on your dresser (beautiful bowls or vases) would add a sophisticated touch... good luck

Okay.... paint the walls in a natural white colour

paint the shutters black. This will match your frame display and blend better with your buffet.

remove mirror, add a vibrant interesting artwork.

place a large rug under your dining table and chairs, large enough so the chairs are sitting on it as well. This will cover the cold tiles.

do not remove plants. Add more big leaf green plants in natural weave pots, not ceramic pots.

all this will then compliment your new console for your entry way, from your other houzz post.

The yellow has to go , but I've focussed on a few different things . Depending on budget , I'd do a largish corniche ( edging ) around the ceiling , and probably an actual light fitting -- the ceiling looks too much like a shop for my liking .

But instead of painting , how about 1 or all walls wallpapered ? Pick a style and colour you like , and have fun .

I'd do a large rug , but IMO that tiled floor looks to be an older style , it looks colder , so I'd distract the eyes if I could .

And the pictures look way too structured for my liking . Go out and buy some of those removable hooks ( Command is one brandname ) hang say 4 along the 'window wall' at different heights and spacings , hang 4 of your pics , and see what you think . Personally , I'd make it less formal .

The plantation shutters could be done in crisp white or stark black , or maybe try that distressed look , but I like the warm wood , and I think almost any colour walls ( painted or papered ) will suit the wood . Well , any except light buttery yellow haha .

A soft white on the walls, paint shutters black as dreamer suggested, that would look fabulous, a textured rug under the table, remove mirror above buffet, add artwork that compliments your gallery wall, some beautiful vases on table , after removing chair and pot, just a single fabulous plant in a gorgeous pot, go artificial, olive, fig they are so lifelike and it will look gorgeous.

I have found it really hard to match because I have no idea what color my table is, i have a lot of miss match throughout my home so I’m not afraid to miss match but I just feel that this one just doesn’t complement each other or do you think I should keep it? I'd go the other way -- your buffet looks to be a greyish tone , the table looks to be an oak colour . I'd look at trying to get the table restained to the darker colour rather than changing the buffet .

Nah I'd leave table as is but stain buffet black.

If you coordinate your accessories with the same colour, there is no need to change the wood colours of your DINING table (not dinning).

black will bring it all together. With light walls and a great big floor rug. The sample photo that @Julie Herbert has shown would be wonderful

I’d truly leave the table and buffet as is until you’ve repainted the walls and removed/painted the shutters. Get the base right first.
