low enough for a tall person to change the light bulbs from floor height could be better ...find something about 750 tall eg two chairs that you could lay some planks across to represent a dining table to give a better estimate of comfortable height for the pendants

Working off the height of the cabinetry in the background which will be a tad higher than a table they are a fair bit too high.

I would lower them to the height of door frame. They need to be tall enough to be able to walk under, and low enough to give some light.
If you ever want to use the room for a large function, then you don’t what the situation of having to walk around the light fittings.

I like them where they are -- why have a nice tall ceiling , then lower the lights right down ? Sort of defeats the purpose IMO -- in fact , I like higher lights but also wall washer uplights to emphasise the height and space .

The kitchen you want downlights to see what you are doing . The dining room is more about atmosphere and mood -- thats why you have dimmers !

i have high ceilings and just installed large chandeliers using this guide. you could go lower but i personally think it closes the space

I think they look lovely, put in furniture, and stop staring at them.😆
