Far from "Cookie Cutter" - Before/After

Our clients are certainly not cookie-cutter people, even though their business is printing 3D cookie cutters!

Our fun & funky young family have loads of personality and oomph and the new house they had just purchased just didn't reflect them at all. The original home had good bones but it lacked storage and felt dark and oppressive.

The Kitchen cabinets and benchtops were in great condition, but a change was much needed for the layout of the island & made the bench height match the same level, as well as adding additional storage underneath. We added some stunning tiles for the splash back and made a soft feature wall with floor-to-ceiling white picket tiles. To compliment it, we added in some new lighting and cabinet handles, and hey presto! A light, bright and family-friendly kitchen.

In the living room, our clients already had the stunning sofa's and we really wanted to work with them. We also wanted to add some POW and fun and our clients gave us an emphatic yes when we presented the wallpaper. Throughout the project, they didn’t hesitate to just say yes to every design choice. Some were subtle choices and some were incredibly bold, like the wallpaper.

Rob is so work-focused that we honestly weren’t even sure if or when he noticed the change (seems impossible doesn’t it?). Because they were living and working in the property as it was being transformed, it seemed a slow process for them – bits happening here, pieces going in there. So, while there was no real ‘Final Reveal’, when those last pieces (soft furnishings and décor), went in and after a lot of zhushing, everything came together at once.

The blue in the gorgeous velvet chair was repeated in the wallpaper. The huge wool rug seems to clash, but somehow works and the tone and fabric of each cushion were designed to either contrast or work with the overall scheme. To say they were excited and thrilled is an understatement. And the best part is, their two daughters get a playground in the living room!
