What colour curtains should we choose?
Comments (12)I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. Good luck. Bee...See MoreEarly 2000 facade makeover need help!
Comments (7)Create a front porch across 2/3 of the front of the house by extending the existing sloped roof on the right side of the house ( except create a balcony behind and between the existing vertical columns). Alternately, create a balcony and porch just around the two existing vertical columns, extending the porch beyond the two existing columns. Use the balcony rail and the porch columns to create the Mediterranean look you seek (arches) -- the effect would be striking. You'd then need some huge planters or cut some holes in the pavement to create a greenspace in front of the porch and/or use hanging baskets. http://hgtvhome.sndimg.com/content/dam/images/hgtv/fullset/2015/3/7/0/Barron-Custom-Design_Shore-Vista_53.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.1280.853.jpeg http://st.hzcdn.com/simgs/d94192130c498e54_4-8517/mediterranean-porch.jpg http://www.ebby.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/25586526-0.jpg...See MoreWhat should I expect from a painter?
Comments (0)Hi everyone. Last October we booked a painter to repaint the exterior of our house. He estimated that he would start late February. Late February came and went, and in early March I sent him an email to see how he was going. No reply. I left a message on his phone. No reply. I finally managed to get him on the cell phone, and he said that he was 2-3 weeks away. No sign of him at the end of March. I sent him another email. No reply. I've texted him, and no reply. Am I expecting too much to think that I should not have to chase the painter like this? I'm getting concerned that as the weather gets worse the job is going to take longer and so will cost me more (we are paying for scaffolding by the week). It's starting to stress me out. Should I just cancel with this guy and try to find someone else to help, possibly for next summer?...See MoreWhat splashback should we get? (photo of kitchen)
Comments (5)Thanks Geoff, that’s a good point! We will paint the walls a white with slight grey to it, do you think a white splashback would work? We were thinking black to match the cooktop but also show off the benchtop. If anyone needs more info - the rest of the house is quite neutral, leaning towards a slight country theme but still keeping it modern....See Moreme me
