Thank you, yes I really love my fish painting and everything is kind of inspired by that. The new paintings are 120 x 90 cm (although they come in other sizes too, United Interiors are having a sale so I’m taking advantage of it - they have the fish painting too!). Just have those little paintings there as I had them already and there are 4 existing hooks in the wall and we aren’t ready to repaint and get rid of erroneous hooks yet.

Consider taping two pieces of paper the same as the art above the sofa. I’m concerned with the art sizes you’ve chosen that one piece may look lonely and two may be too much.

Ok thank you, I’m only planning on having one landscape shaped artwork above the couch and having previously placed another print there for sizing, the 120cm width looked about right. Just worried if I’m getting too immersed in the blue theme!

You need some orange accent to complement the blue. This can be cushions on couch or in the art

I don’t think you’re too immersed in the blue green theme. Although I could be biased as it’s one of my favourites. Get the artwork and then see what you think. I’d suggest the next step may be some neutral cushions and throws in a fabric that adds some texture but so the art first.

Love your fish painting, and love your colour choices. And because you love it, you should go for it. Being surrounded by things you love makes you happy, and who doesn’t want that!? As mentioned, a little blue / green in your otherwise neutral furniture and furnishings, to tie things in, and some textural elements, both fabric and with accessories, and you’re all good. If your not familiar with it, look up the 70 20 10 (sometimes called the 60 30 10) design rule. I find it often helps with this type of dilemma

Oh Julie, I adore those cushions and the basket, they would look fabulous. I can’t wait to go shopping again! And thank you Kate and Jan, us I like the idea of some terracotta hues with pots and would go with these sorts of cushions too. Eventually I’d like to get a tan leather couch but that’s a little way off. I’m glad Im not going too crazy with the green/blues, you’re right, my fish and those colours do put a smile on my face! The doggo is definitely a keeper! 😂🐾. And I think that fish painting is quite special. I can imagine swimming around under there with those fish sometimes… Yes, I will send pics for sure, thank you. I’ve ordered the painting and will start trying to find some nice cushions like those online.
