Advice for coffee table and rug/living room styling
Just moved in to a new house and trying to make the old furniture work in our new spaces.
This is our new living space, I'm not 100% on the rug, husband picked it and I've never loved it so wouldn't mind if it went 😂
But he would like a coffee table and im struggling to find one that I like so looking for suggestions.
Tv will be probably going on the wall at some point and I've added some pictures of the dining space which is next door as well to give perspective.
Will probably put some kind of biggish tall plant on the corner to left of TV

Comments (43)Now it's beginning to work! Luv the rug! A few more red showstoppers, and I luv the post about matting your family pic, and larger frame for it. Looks like you might be a bit uncomfortable with the great post idea of moving your sofa out into the room away from wall. If so, could you accept putting it diagonally from the entrance doorway, across that corner where it is, stopping at the edge of your window? That's a bit of a move outward, still can see the fp and tv, and show off your new rug, which could go diagonally in front of the sofa. Then, if you like that, after a while you could move it on out as Deb K suggests. Sometimes intermediate steps are more doable for us than those big changes.Same with painting; if you could first paint just the fp wall, then later paint other walls...seems some color would really make it more homey. To keep budget down, try an indoor outdoor rug you may find on sale at the end of the summer. The other thing you could change easily would be curtains or other window treatments in a zingy color or pattern. Comments (5)A few simple steps can give your room a lot more vibe! Try pairing the drapes with sheer curtains, that will give the window more depth. The tv wall could be your accent wall, a dark blue would actually work very well. If the TV has backing, I would hang it on the wall, a few inches above the furniture piece. The two frames above the white dresser should go below the wall clock. Instead, a large art piece (about the length of the dresser) would complement that wall much better. I would also replace the coffee table with a rectangular, heavier glass and metal table, placed in the center. Also pillows. Pick up colors from your art work and the accent wall and use those to find pillows to decorate your sofas. Hope this inspires :-)...See More

2 years agoYour rug is nice , just position it under the legs of sofa, if not large enough you could try a textured rug, add gorgeous linen cushions to compliment your other cushions, a nesting coffee table in timber to match dining table, lovely planters in corner.. gorgeous.

2 years agoLove the idea of a sofa table behind couch, pulling the sofa forward adds the illusion of more space, you could add lamps and use your floor lamp near tv
