Need help with layout

HI , I need help reconfiguring the living area in our home. the rumpus room is too small and we wish to close off the main lounge area to the childrens wing (way too noisy atm with the current layout)and also alter the entrance area as currently the lounge area is too exposed when the front door is opened. There is also a fire place in the lounge area against the study wall ( not shown in plans, my thoughts were to close off the passage way and square off the rumpus room. The existing rumpus room angled wall does not line up with study wall. I was hoping to place the tv against the new wall created by closing off the passage and incorporating built in cabinets underneath. I would also mirror the cabinets on the window side of the fireplace for continuity. I dont wish to put the Tv above the fireplace as I find it too high for comfortable viewing.. I am also unable to put the TV along the wall to the deck as the entire length of the room (10 metres) is full length windows and sliding doors. I am hoping someone may be able to look at this dilemma with fresh eyes as i am unable to think of any other solution/ configurations that will achieve the result and be aesthetically pleasing. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I can see the issues and think squaring off rumpus will be a great idea. You also have too much open plan for noise control and an additional wall can help furniture placement
You have put a voting in with 2 plans that look identically and have black lines drawn over them. Can you post a plan with dimensions of key areas.

Do you want this to be a big reno? meaning, will you replace things totally or do you want to work with what you have mostly? will you add a toilet to the bathroom? if you replace the vanity, you can put in a larger one curving around the corner with a medicine cabinet above. If you replace the shower with one flat on the ground, you can also put in clear doors for bigger visual space. how about re-painting as well

That is a really small space,I think maybe an apartment size sofa would help you get the look you need and a smaller table or even removing the table and using two bar stools

With the pantry being located where it is, it provides a opportunity to make it inbuilt and continue your bench top along. This would then provide more bench space and would make sure you are using that wall to its full potential. However for space and flow and to make your kitchen more ascetically pleasing, we would suggest keeping the island bench and making the appliances integrated. This provides opportunity to make that far wall a feature wall, which can be as simple as a blackboard or pictures, to making it a colour feature (depending on you cabinetry) or even to make it high class you could create a wood paneling feature. I hope this helps, either way you can add bonus features to your kitchen, you can create more storage and bench space with changing the pantry, or you could make a design feature out of that wall. always prefer separate toilet with handbasin, the bathroom has plenty of space for generous fixtures up to the sizes shown but the bathroom should be planned to suit potential users and relative to the whole plan (where are the windows?) next door rooms, orientation, outlook etc...this is one suggestion that has the best view on entering the room with the shower (tallest) at the side, bath with potential view, vanity with option for two basins and matching mirror doored wall cabinet and the toilet handbasin next to the shower keeps the plumbing sounds away from adjoining rooms more details may inspire other suggestions

Here I have closed off living as new rumpus and left rumpus open as quiet use sitting room although it could be closed
