You have a lot of flat shiny surfaces. If you add some variety with textures and natural colours in soft furnishings and art if will add to the space and provide a link between the new sofa and the existing furniture. Some plants and greenery would also be a good addition.

Adding artwork that picks up the colours could look great, also in cushions , vases and side tables, white planter, and a gorgeous piece for your table. I am a lover of white also, recently changed our globes to daylight, and have warm light in lamps, lovely room, hope you get a good outcome with your sofa.

You can’t really hide it when it’s the biggest piece of furniture on the room so you need to make it belong by relating it to the other furnishings. Pick your art first. It you find something that has both white and cream in it like Julie posted it can then direct your other choices. Some forgot to add some natural textures as well.

You can make it work, choosing art first as bigreader says, and adding textured pieces will tie it all together, could look beautiful, throw, cushions, a gorgeous lamp or planter and some unique pottery for your sofa table, by adding minimal details the sofa will look the star of the room.

Agree. Big art on entry wall. But the feature wall behind the dining table is also needing some. The dining area is lacking a focal point and art is the easiest addition.

I’m stuck on what colour rug and material? I originally had a white and black shag style geometric rug but the white made the sofa look even more yellow, almost dirty.

Yes that wall. The rugs in Julie’s inspiration pics would be a much better match than a high contrast black and white shag rug.

Any response from the company, the only problem I see is if both leathers are different, ie: dining chairs and lounge. Perhaps a neutral hessian rug would work to pull thing together, and can the lounge come out from the wall? Lovely room love the feature wall.

Orange rug . Orange vases . Orange cushions . Maybe a smaller rug with orange , black and white geo designs . Artwork with orange . Hell , one for the dining area -- a 1 metre square paniting of an orange .

I agree with all the homeware suggestions, apart from potty’s orange of course, and would also suggest swapping the lights to a cool white rather than warm. Think you would get closer to the look you are after. Would throw less yellow which is increasing the cream of the lounge.

Thank you Mandoozle! We actually tried that but the sofa stayed stubbornly yellow even under the coolest light setting! It made a small difference, but not as much as we hoped for! Thanks though. Interestingly, the sofa is more yellow in the afternoon when the sun isn’t directly on it, so it must be a light thing for sure.

I totally get your struggle—it's frustrating when a "white" piece ends up looking cream instead. One thing that worked for me was introducing cool-toned accents to counterbalance the warmth. You could paint the walls a light, cool grey or even a crisp, bluish white to offset the creaminess. This will help neutralize the yellow tones, especially in natural light.

Another idea is to bring in darker elements, like a black throw or dark cushions, to add contrast and make the cream feel intentional. In my experience, black rugs can also be great for grounding the space and taking attention away from the couch's color.

Late to comment. So many different opinions of course reflect what you’re most comfortable with. I was surprised to see Pottsy’s suggestion I just had same issue with a cream sofa looking more yellow toned than white. Had to move living room artwork. All I could picture was orange! pottsy’s if you go for creams soft earth tones it’s a look…but I definitely get the orange! Brought out a fiestaware decorative orange dish. Don’t judge cuz I’m playing around to get ideas! But I’ll post a foto of testing colors. Good luck. EST advice is what you’re happy looking at!

Throwing colors at it to see how i feel (people tell me they see off-white) but my cold colored artwork made off-white, look dingy its true sbout light of day but I only see the yellow tones under the cream so thought of orange right awsy! dont judge harshly paintings will changr, be moved lower am experimenting w the orsnge wonder what you did its a lovely color sofs i was upset too till i experimented
