...reminded me of a design we did years back, coastal scenario but similarly needed weather/climate protection on view/street side and external living areas on a sloping block, which we used split levels to negotiate the slope.....we accommodated garage underneath the living areas on a lower level ..attached a flipped/reversed plan just to demonstrate a few ideas relevant to your context - you'd need to create overhangs to the west to protect from solar gain and zone the house more like the plan example, creating outdoor living areas both at the front and as rear private space to the (in your case) north east

This is by no means a solution but hope this helps show a few ideas / rough direction / basic zoning concept that you could possibly draw from

Appreciate the response. That design is pretty cool and has come very nice features.

a front verandah will help to deal with the western sun while allowing views. Have a front living space for the views and other living space to enjoy the northern and morning sun. Always keep bedrooms as much as you can to the cooler side of house.

Oh and ask locals which way the breezes come so you can maximise airflow. Wind will flow uphill but it really can be localised. Getting cross ventilation can be good. But in hot dry still places deep verandahs and avoiding dark external colours is always a great idea.
