We had a bit of a saga with our deck last year thought we’d DIY it to save some money… long story short, three weekends, one crooked frame, and a very unimpressed spouse later, we waved the white flag 😂

Ended up getting in touch with Smart Patios,they’re somewhere in Brisbane, not sure if technically “southside” but they came out no problem. You can find them easily if you just look them up on Google pretty sure their site has a few project photos too!

Haha this made me laugh, sounds way too familiar! We’ve been debating the whole DIY vs hire-it-out thing for months now, and your story definitely nudged us closer to picking up the phone instead of the hammer 😂

Out of curiosity, how long did the whole process take once you contacted Smart Patios? And did they help with the design or just the build? We’ve got a rough idea of what we want but nothing on paper yet.

I hope my comment isn’t too late, just wanted to share. We’re on the southside and had a good experience with Trusted Carports Brisbane they do patios and decking, were upfront on pricing, and showed past work.

If you’re handy, a small DIY deck is also doable for basic setups, but we went pro for peace of mind.
