Floor GPO to hide messy cables since the desk is floating instead sitting against a wall.

I will have GPO provision on 3 walls just in case.

NBN and printer will be placed in the server room(to the right of mud room). Plenty of storage on the shelf(whole wall) behind the desk.

The room measures 5280*4280, desk measures 2000*900(2 x 32' monitor).

I rarely will have guests coming into that office, so my ease of access is top consideration here. I'd be weird if I have to walk outside the house to get in the office every time.

Def the door position in 1. But I’d want to face the window when I’m at the desk. You could have the run of cabinetry on the kitchen side wall. You have enough room to consider a comfy chair as well.

The plan is to have an armchair and TV on wheels in the corner.

Problem with door position in 1 and facing the window is when you'll come behind the desk when stepping in the room, not a "commanding" position. Or am I worrying too much?

Hi dreamer, I thought about this originally and gave up for a couple of reasons:

1. I'd be looking at a 5m wall most of the time when I look out the window sitting at this position.

2. Depending on the season, the sun will likely shine on the screen from about 8am-11am, on my face from 1pm-2pm considering the seat is quite far from the garage wall.

Seems like I'd have to compromise somewhere. Maybe option 2 but move the cav slider closer to middle of that wall, so door's on the side of the desk instead of back.

I made a rough setout of where the extension and new driveway will be to give a clearer view of where everything is. Blue circle will be a tiny roundabout with some sort of feature tree in a giant pot. Ideally, I'd want to be able to easily glance at the front gate/driveway while working.

What a shame the north sun lands on the garage and not into the living rooms of the house: it is all round the wrong way. Nice for the office but not good for the rest. :( Margot

Hi Margot, I'm on acreage, house is 41m wide, all windows facing north are 2400mm/2700mm tall. it's an open living plan, the living, dining and kitchen is about 110m2 combined with a 2700mm x 4800mm and a 2700mm x 3600mm windows facing north and a 2700 x 5600mm stacker door to south(patio), all 3600mm ceiling height.
