Truss roof, is it possible to make it into an attic?

My house has plenty space inside the roof. The roof are trusses but I can't put any supporting loads inside the house since it is a large open space. So, I was wondering if I add in structural woods to support the trusses and make it stronger to hold the weight for the attic?

You need to get structural engineer to assess it.

Hello DVN8, the trusses that you have drawn are missing the centre diagonals, and so if you are asking if you can remove these (not in your drawing) and replace them with the verticals you have drawn, then the answer is No, you can't modify trusses as this will cause loss of their structural support. A structural Engineer can confirm this for you.

    Hope this helps,Malcolm.
