Help needed with laundry doors!

last month

Hi all,

Putting in a new laundry in a previously empty space, so building 2 new walls. It's quite short - 2180 x 1900 (it's wider than it is long). Currently both doors open inwards - blocking access to the tall cupboards. I have 2 questions:

- is there any real reason the external door can't open outwards? We won't have a flyscreen there, we have a window for ventilation

.

- building designer told me there's not room for a cavity slider at the entrance. I reckon we can just squeeze one in. If the two rows of cabinetry are 6oomm (sink, WM & Dryer) and 500mm (tall cupboards). There is 1680mm from the edge of tall cabinets to the wall abutting the kitchen. Is this enough for a 800mm cavity slider door?

Thanks in advance.
