Solution for stopping the rain /privacy screen for BBQ

Hi,
We’ve got a roof on our deck and without realising the impact from weather, now the rain comes in quite a fair bit from the west. The roof line is slightly over the kitchen wall - but there isn’t much leeway at all.

There isn’t an option to extend the roof / move the outdoor kitchen.

Looking for any suggestions for how we might still be able to get light in on dry days but stop rain coming in when it pours! You can see from the photo how far the water comes in and where roof and kitchen are lined up.

Thanks heaps!

If there’s anchor points in the roof, a blind would be the easiest solution. Otherwise a frame will be needed to support sliding aluminium shutters or similar.

If your prepared to spend some money, then Aluminium Louvres would be the permanent solution. As bigreader has mentioned, a sturdy frame would be required. Louvres are movable, able to be tilted, opened or closed for rainy and sunny days, they are fire proof, since this is next to the BBQ. Any fabric or plastic PVC awning may melt when BBQ is being used, if positioned to close.
