You can cover your downpipes in either a simple plastic structure, or a curved metal, or a stylish fitted one and weave the jasmine through it, looks great as it shows through the foliage, until you wait for the plants to grow to create your desired effect.

@Julie Herbert - thank you for the pics, I could try for something like the last one between my windows but maybe not the upper part, just vertical but the distance between my windows is not the same.

You could have three planters, two covering the down pipes and one centred on the wall between them , that could look beautiful.

Using rectangular planters would work as well or go feature pots, whichever goes with your landscaping.

I think you’ve done a good job painting them. They don’t stick out abnormally. Any troughs or planters along that wall would soften the hard surfaces and give something appealing to look at - doesn’t need to be targeted at the pipes you’ve painted l.

@Julie Herbert - could u suggest some pots please, something that would compliment the bricks. This area is complete concrete (where you see the concrete slab end, thats the start of the driveway that runs parallel to the outdoor wall).

@bigreader - thank you, took a few hrs to do it. Pipes were white in color and looked horrible. Atleast painted ones dont look too bad I hope.

Large black planters, square , rectangular would look fantastic, or these ripple pots from the Balcony garden are lovely but a bit pricey. Look for pot places, there are a lot that have so many to choose from, google what’s available in your area. There area lot of people that sell them from industrial sites for a quarter of the price, love that third photo with the tree and matching large pots.

I wouldn’t grow a climber. They can get invasive. I don’t think the pipes are the issue. You have a bland concrete drive and not enough interest to soften. So if you can add some planters that would be great to give you a nicer focue]s

hi @Kate, the driveway is narrow so I don't have space to grow anything on the other side fence hence was thinkin of some plants next to the wall (which could nicely cover up the aircon pipes too) and make the place look less bland. @Kate - definitely like to hear if you have further ideas on what kinda plants/pots.

*driveway is worn-down, I will get to it someday hopefully.

If you really want to give the house a newer more modern look, you could paint the porch railing, window frames and garage door a dark colour, that would look great with your new planters.

@Julie Herbert - more than a modern look, i'd like it to look a little greener.. I could add some pots on the covered patio but it gets messy when it rains so havent added anything there.

I think your new planters will help make it a little greener, you might like to add a bench and a pot on your patio, if space allows, this could add a bit of a focal point and a little bit of greenery as well.
