We recently started planning our custom home build in Geelong, and choosing the right builder turned out to be much harder than expected.

At first, we focused mostly on floor plans and pricing, but we quickly realised that communication and transparency were far more important. Some builders were very clear about costs, timelines, and inclusions, while others weren't.

One of the biggest lessons we learned was to look beyond the quote and pay attention to how a builder answers questions. Local Geelong experience also seemed to make a big difference.
