Just as a quick glance. Delete the two storage areas as shown on plan for bedroom closet and hallway storage. They waste so much space. Create long back to back storage. Sliding doors on bedroom, hinged or sliding on hallway storage.

Install more windows on the east side of living for the morning sun. Can you tell us more information about the climate. Do you get hot summers, cold winters?

Perth climate. Very hot summers. At the moment there is a kitchen window at the sink and a highlight window above the tv on the east side of the house.

If you opened the bathroom and kids room off the hallway you’d have room for a separate shower. And can you switch the basin and loo in the powder room, currently you can see the toilet from the kitchen.

Can the laundry go out further and put the powder on that side so it’s not shared with the ensuite?

We were trying to cost save by only having 2 toilets in the house. A bit tricky to make it work

In the size of the scale of Reno you’re planning a sep powder room will be very small.

dimensions are inconsistant and need careful checking but, subject to accurate dimensions, my suggestions include an alternative central hallway and if you would consider a laundry without external access there should be enough space for a separate pantry and powder room

Looking again at the renovation plan. The master WIR won’t work. If the door to WIR is 720 or 820, either way , it looks like the depth of The WIR is about 1000mm. With a 500mm to 600mm hanging depth, 400mm to 500mm walking space is not ergonomically acceptable.

The plan is basic with poorly considered doors and depths check the kids room on right.

In Perth we get our cooling morning summer breezes and beautiful winter morning sun from the east. I would swap the living area and your dining areas. Install windows that can be opened to let these breezes come into the home on a summer morning. The cooling afternoon breezes come from the south west/west. These will come into the home through the alfresco sliding doors. Put a highlight horizontal window with shutters, on the north west side above your television. This will then get the northern sun in winter, and close the shutters in summer to stop the afternoon sun coming into home. I would also do a tall vertical window on the same tv wall, that can be opened and closed as required for seasons. I would also include a screen door for external laundry door, to allow the easterly morning breezes into the home. I have also changed the position of master bedroom entrance, WIR and bed position. I do not like the dual entrance toilet. Oklouises alternative for this ensuite and powder room is better.

Do you think this type of layout for the en-suite/powder room would work better without adding another toilet?

Add another toilet. But at the very least it needs a basin. Do you want your kids friends coming in to to use your vanity?

Put sliding doors on the wir /wil cupboards. In master make it a double slider The little entry vestibule in master will make it hard to get furniture in.

Agree with Kate, if you have to have the WIR and WIL, instead of long storage as I and oklouise have mentioned, then put sliding doors on these storage rooms. You waste so much room in these storage areas when providing for the swing of the door.
