Has anybody used a DIY clothes dryer venting kit? Do they work or should I call a professional? I have old style plaster interior walls and brick external walls. Can you vent through the ceiling?
vent needs to be external or can create dampness inside but before investing in a venting system consider investing in a condensing dryer that doesn't need to be vented
An exhaust fan will also do the trick. So if you already have a fan in your laundry you don’t need to vent the dryer. Or, as OK Louise said, get a condenser dryer. Or better still, get a heat pump dryer. They’re much more economical to run. $0.09 per kilo (for a 9* one) as opposed to $0.34 per kilo for a vented dryer (1.5*). And they don’t need venting either.
