Painted or stained wood trim?
Comments (5)I love a QUALITY paint job. Few people know the ins and outs of a quality paint job but, a seasoned painter for INTERIORS will have many techniques and processes to dial up the end result. I love my painter and I listen closely to his advice and he is so expert (40 years) and good that he makes it look effortless. BUT IT'S NOT. Will find and post favorite picture of painted trim here. I think the secret is style and proportion of trim and then the quality of the finishing. Did you know most paint curing really needs 2 to 3 weeks to set up as a really good tough finish? "In a hurry" is the curse we mostly experience for improving interiors. I wonder sometimes how different things would be if people took the right amount of time to do things in the time frame related to that finishing task!...See MoreWhat colour curtains should we choose?
Comments (12)I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. Good luck. Bee...See MoreBlack roof, black exterior with white trim work?
Comments (5)I understand going with the grey since it is an 80's style house. You could also do bright bold colors. I do not know if that is your style. I have attached a quick rendering of the gray scheme you mentioned. I prefer light colors above dark colors. This keeps in theme with the sky and earth. Makes the house seem more grounded. The dark entry also draws your eye to it especially with the light coming from the other side of the house. I have also attached a quick rendering of a blue scheme. It looks like you are on a beach and I thought this would blend in with the surroundings. If that is what you are seeking. Hope this helps....See Morewhat colours to paint my 1880's home
Comments (2)Hi, Courtney, thanks for that, I haven't painted yet, we have nearly finished putting in a bathroom. This coming summer we are painting, so at present my choice of colours are a dark grey roof, a warm green (not blue undertone) for main house, a buttermilk trim and a rusty red door? What do you think....See MoreDouble D
