3 Design Ideas for a More Enjoyable Laundry Room
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, US editor Mitchell Parker discusses three design ideas from pros on Houzz that can make a laundry room a little more enjoyable place to be. A furniture-style workbench is good for folding laundry but also supports other household tasks, such as wrapping gifts, arranging flowers and fixing a small appliance. A painted brick floor creates an unexpected element. And a window provides natural light, fresh air and a view.

Thank you Mitchell - great ideas. Like the furniture piece-absolutely a practical and beautiful idea.
I would appreciate ideas for a Landry room that sadly lacks a window....thank you.
Oops! Typo ...Laundry room
You have forgotten the most important design requirement for a laundry area. The washing machine must be place with a surround basin of a drain system as is common in European homes. The basin has a drain and surround ceramic tile curb so that any leak is automatically able to be drain. The current approach in the USA is a plastic tub which has a very limited capacity. We have built new 4 homes from the ground up and used this approach.
As a parent with 3 kids the laundry room and space needed in it is always a point of contention in our household
Whilst not being brick our laundry room floor is concrete and by just painting it bright turquoise has mad such a huge difference
Really inspiring!
i love these. in the future i would also appreciate looks into more humble and tiny laundry rooms, which often lead clients to believe that „not much can be done“ when in fact, there‘s a myriad of opportunities available.
What color are cabinets?
I love these ideas !
My soon to be laundry room will have these ideas. I cannot afford new cabinets, so I will use my old oak kitchen table. The floor is 2 color VCT, and I will have an awning window. Eventually. Windows are the hold up, now.
