Positioning the basin off-centre on the vanity captures the eye and provides plenty of uninterrupted bathroom bench space.
No space for a vanity bench in your tiny bathroom? Create a recessed storage ledge behind the basin where you can store soap and toiletries.
A floating vanity and a simple palette of white, grey and mid-tone timber maximise the sense of space in this compact room.
Make a feature of a mirrored vanity by adding in a few handy display shelves.

Semi-freestanding baths give you the best of both worlds. While still attached to the wall, for the ease of placing objects such as books and glasses of wine, a semi-freestanding bath appears to be as unattached as a freestanding bath. This gives the bathroom a significant practical and design edge that can take the space to a new level.
For those with young children or who have mobility issues, semi-freestanding baths offer easier access than other types of bath. This is because the width of the bath is limited and there are no front hobs. As a result, accidents can be minimised and the bathroom is safer for the entire family.
Regular built-in baths can be difficult to clean as you sometimes have to climb inside to do so. Fully freestanding baths, depending on how they’re placed, can also be quite difficult to clean behind. With a semi-freestanding bath, however, as there is no gap between the tub and the wall, you eliminate the issues that arise when cleaning behind and alongside specialised filling spouts.
Unless it’s a colour other than chrome, a tap is a tap. Something basic will be fine, so don’t spend your hard-earned cash there. Funnel your money into custom cabinetry instead. Having a smart drawer that fits your lipstick collection perfectly, in a colour you love and with a concealed bin, will be worth so much more than the bragging rights for Italian taps.
