Surprised there are only 2 comments to this post when so many on Houzz cry out about focusing on small living spaces. Small can be beautiful; small demands ingenuity of layout/design; small has to be (and I quote) 'cosy and inviting but never cramped'; small has to be clutter-free; small needs storage to achieve this. The above flats illustrate this wonderfully...

One piece of Houzz advice I will be using... when I can afford to furnish my living room... is NOT to have a matching sofa plus single seater, but to choose a different style altogether. This takes the eye around the room instead of focusing on this 'block of sameness' and is illustrated in flat 2, above. I myself am probably going to opt for a papsan chair as my single seater. Love these.
