I would love to have a solid fuel fire but space is very limited in my small unit - something had to give, and the fire was that something. So air-source heat pump is my source of heat - with a little mica-radiant heater to roll out on really chilly nights. And after all it is nice to have heat at the turn of a switch, with no dust, no ash, no smoke and no piles of wood to cart, store, dry, split, carry and make space for by the fire.
Nos 3 and 5 for me, love their simplicity.
