Semi-freestanding baths give you the best of both worlds. While still attached to the wall, for the ease of placing objects such as books and glasses of wine, a semi-freestanding bath appears to be as unattached as a freestanding bath. This gives the bathroom a significant practical and design edge that can take the space to a new level.
1. They can give the illusion of a floating bath
Tiling around the semi-freestanding bath, as shown here, can give the illusion that it’s floating in mid air. This is one of the creative ways that these types of baths can be used to provide personality and spark to a bathroom.

2. They are the image of luxury and opulence
In contrast to traditional baths, a semi-freestanding option draws your eye when you enter the room. They’re unique and can be the luxurious focal point in a bathroom.

3. They make the room appear larger
One of the benefits of a semi-freestanding bath is that it can make the bathroom appear larger, especially when placed beside a wide window. There is more space around the structure, giving the illusion of a larger overall bathroom.
You can see in this image that the white semi-freestanding bath contrasts against the curved wall of dark-toned tiles, creating a larger-looking and more sophisticated space.

4. They are available in different materials to suit design and style
Semi-freestanding baths come in different materials and styles, including cast-iron, smooth granite or stone resin. This example is a custom-composite semi-freestanding bath, surrounded by limestone almond gris tiles on the wall and floor and a Caesarstone benchtop in ‘Snow’.

5. They are easy to enter and exit
For those with young children or who have mobility issues, semi-freestanding baths offer easier access than other types of bath. This is because the width of the bath is limited and there are no front hobs. As a result, accidents can be minimised and the bathroom is safer for the entire family.

6. They are easier to clean
Regular built-in baths can be difficult to clean as you sometimes have to climb inside to do so. Fully freestanding baths, depending on how they’re placed, can also be quite difficult to clean behind. With a semi-freestanding bath, however, as there is no gap between the tub and the wall, you eliminate the issues that arise when cleaning behind and alongside specialised filling spouts.

7. They suit a wide range of tapware
In terms of tapware, semi-freestanding baths suit a wide range of options. These can be mounted on the wall, as seen here, or on the bath rim itself.
Additionally, semi-freestanding bath tapware is generally cheaper than the floor-mounted equivalent for fully freestanding baths.

8. Landing space around the bath for placing items
Bathing is an experience, not just a chore that you have to do daily.
As such, you may like to bring items such as books, wine and candles to make your bath time even more special. One of the benefits of a semi-freestanding bath is that there is landing space available to place items for pampering within easy reach. This means you can make an evening of relaxing at your own pace.

i buy something similar with 5 picture, it is very nice in use . now i can say i love the freestanding bathtub
This is placed advertising for Bubbles Bathrooms! I generally do not care for this current trend of freestanding baths, but the fourth bathroom design featured here is pretty great. That is one beautiful bathtub. The window in the that room is a real miss, though. It needs a window covering to disguise it, and to warm up the room. I’d go for a reed, seagrass or bamboo Roman shade in a grayish green color, to tie in with whatever finish is in the wall in the corner. Something like these:
I dislike them all, free standing, semi free standing, hard to clean around, no safer than any other bath tub that doesn’t have a hob around it, and look,at all the ledges built around them so you can use them practically. My new build will have the bath inset with a surround on three sides, room for a magazine, a glass of wine and the soap!
