Unfortunately my kitchen is not big enough to accomodate any greenery, but if I had a huge, spacious, light and bright Traditional kitchen, I would incorporate small palms in beautiful French concrete urns, placed near an entrance doorway and near a huge kitchen island!

We have just completed a renovation of a kitchen. The owners have always had trouble with plants because of the positioning of the apartment. The kitchen only gets a bit of sun in the afternoon which just isn’t enough to keep the herbs alive. I might recommend succulents or a few plants that can survive with indirect sunlight.

Buy some small vintage bottles, fill with water and insert cuttings. Place on a window sill in the sun. It looks pretty and you get new plants as they often grow roots.
