I used to housesit a lot and every place I stayed at had decorative pillow stacks galore. First day, I'd go and take a photo of the behemoth pillow creations as i'd never remember how the heck they went, then I'd gather them all and put them in a spare room out of my way until it was vacate time. It would then take me aaaaaages to figure out the redo. I vowed I'd never do the ridiculous pillow thing. I moved house last year, brought a new huge fancy bed and found me wanting to zhushhh things up. So I have crossed over to the dark side and gone from being minimalist, nothing but the sleeping pillows for me, to now having a collection on my king bed and also the queen guest room bed. I even have a summer and a different winter look lols, a mixture of classic and boho. And I'm fine with not having to make my bed up with them every day. Both rooms have an armchair where they can be placed while not in use. I tell you what too, my grandkids are right into the decorative pillow stacking - they make the beds up when they stay for holidays and I let them create their own way. The 9 yr old grandson is the keenest and has a good eye. So I'll be passing on a few cushions (it took a lot of picking so I have excess!) to each of them for their own beds at home.
