The client was after a coastal look that would reflect their beachside lifestyle. They wanted to achieve a semi open-plan combined kitchen and laundry and increase their storage as well as benchtop space.
They have a passion for cooking and entertaining at home, so they asked us to design an inviting kitchen that they could enjoy with family and friends.
One of their must-haves was a lift-up alfresco servery window. This is the perfect entertainer window.

THe brokerage idea is interesting - I think it's great for time poor people who aren't building savvy, or negotiation whizzes. Definitely a market for that. But I didn't see what Blakes charged?
A lot of this cost was luxe finishes like the marble... you could pare down here and there to get a very similar result if it's just the look plus functionality you were after.
This kind of article is super useful to give us a realistic idea of costs, as pointed out it sounds super expensive for an internal reno, but this is what we need to realise. Would like to hear more about the broker system and fee structure.

Agree this is a useful overview of costs, but leaving the brokers cost out was an oversight. It makes me assume it was very expensive.
