Creative brief from client
Design an updated, modern bathroom featuring the colour pink. The feel was to be fresh and bright. A bath tub and shower were required as well as maximum storage in the vanity unit… and all within budget.

Scope of work
- Measured and documented the client’s existing bathroom.
- Listened to the client’s brief and budget limitations.
- Designed the new bathroom to meet the brief and budget.
- Selected and presented the finishes, tapware, vanity design and new layout to the client.
- During the build, visited the site regularly to oversee progress and solve design issues.
Challenges
The client wanted to add a bath to this room, which previously only had a shower. There was not room for a separate shower and bath so a shower over the bath was selected. A feature was made of this by tiling the bath surround in the pink feature tile. The surround was extended to a bench seat that meets the vanity, and is all in the pink tile.
The only window in the room is above the vanity unit, so to ensure that light wasn’t impeded, we added a large mirror to the adjacent wall above and beside the vanity unit.

What did you spend on?
The bath. It had to be super comfortable to create a relaxing space for my client, as well as being practical to stand in beneath the shower.
What did you save on?
We sourced tiles that gave the look we were after, but were inexpensive. Money was saved by deciding against a mirrored shaving cabinet and instead choosing a large wall-mounted mirror.

Thanks very useful, about to embark on a bathroom laundry conversion. Will help when getting quotes. I can’t decide whether to go shower bath or just shower. No bath currently in house. The reno will turn a 1960 shower in laundry to a shower room and laundry .. we have an en-suite shower room as well.
Ps love the tiles. It’s a beautiful job
I like the tiles, but I think that it would be better not styled with pink rug and towels (too much, unless for barbie?)
