I put a wide low underbed storage container under all of the piping, and cut a opening for pipes. it saved my hardwood floors when we had a flood under the sink and the plastic bin filled with water, saving my floors!

Another good item to squeeze in under your kitchen sink (and bathroom sinks also) is a small leak detector alarm (or two). They are sold on Amazon (and elsewhere, I'm sure). There are many types, including ones that just sound an alarm, ones that can be wi-fi connected to the internet so that it will alert you if you are not actually in the house to hear it, etc. Well worth the relatively small cost.

And under the dishwasher and beneath the water valves on the toilets, too!
