Great use of a narrow space without overwhelming the area. This type of layout with sink further away could work if you wanted to retain the door outside. In which case, cover the window (to provide more shelf space) and install a back door with a window. Also remembering that the door will lead to your new decking so you will also want it to look nice when looking from the deck.
I can see this layout in our pantry, very clever use of space. We were thinking of putting in a cupboard for brooms etc. but we could always put the in the hallway.

Bench one side with extension of kitchen cupboards for cups etc, kettle, toaster, appliances, microwave?. Sink at rear with window.
