A Boy and His Cat

The Wirschings' son, Marco, 12, kicks back on the sofa with one of his cats, Rocky. The mid-century modern-inspired white sofa is from Design Within Reach, while the coffee table is granite -- bought from a consignment shop. The blue glass bowl is Murano. Note the back height of the couch is close to the height of the stair railing -- keeping sight lines low, horizontal and consistent.
