Our approach to commercial art projects often serve more of a practical purpose for our clients. Therefore, our team is carefully evaluates the key objectives our clients would like to achieve. Is it to elevate the atmosphere of a space that potentially can cause stress for the businesses' clientele? Or is the goal more oriented toward advertising and directing the viewer's eye? These are all questions we consider during the briefing process, before we dig into building a conceptual proposal for our client.
For the latest commercial project we worked on, we understood the need to showcase something extra to install visually & energetically stimulating artworks into an environment that would create a lasting impression of the dental business we worked with.
Making use of different techniques regarding the layout and hanging of artworks, we were able to piece not only to complement the existing look-and-feel of the space, but centralize focus from the viewer's eye to create a focal point.

Approached by Hallmark Care Homes to produce works for their development site in Leigh-on-Sea, Paul created a concept to make a mosaic bench that would be visually familiar to the residents. Inspired by the curved shaped seating of Gaudi's Park Guell, He chose to replicate patchwork patterns and designs in warm tones so that the bench stood out against the greenery and landscaped garden. The actual mosaics were then made with the pupils of Westcliff High School for Girls, they worked on several patches each and created some patterns and designs themselves. It was wonderful to work with the pupils and have them create a lasting artwork for the older generation to enjoy.
The Driveway entrance mosaics were designed with the location of the site in mind, being near the Sea. The compass is taken from the companies logo. These two entrance mosaics were also made with local primary school children. One was made with Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and the other Darlighurst Primary.

The "midstrey" element created a two-storey porch, and outer doors were designed so that this could be fully closed up when appropriate.
