The challenge for this project was to build a completely new kitchen in a newly added-on area of this home. The old kitchen was on the other side to the house and had poor lighting, making entertaining difficult due to to both size and location in the home.
We designed the layout of this kitchen and chose wood finishes that would complement and enhance the natural lighting. We also wanted to showcase the high-quality curly ash wood, and it natural grain.
The result of our work was a brilliant and comfortable kitchen that stands up to daily use and offers more storage, more counter space, and room to entertain and cook with family.

The opposing view. Half this space was the old space but you'll never know where because we bury our beams! Note the cork floor!

The Dining area of this project is multipurpose - there is a desk/planning area to one side, storage in the benches, and a viewing area to the climbing wall from the basement. One of the sons is a national indoor climber.

A major gut and remodel of a dilapidated kitchen yielded an open and more functional plan. A high level of craftsmanship, a restored antique stove, and the reuse of swinging doors as a pantry made this kitchen a natural fit for this beautiful Elmwood home. Rich colors and materials combine with natural light from new windows and a modern openness to create a space that feels of it's time and contemporary at the same time.

The Oak cabinets remained in this kitchen while the hardware was updated with a Mission flare. Cork floors were installed and finished with polyurethane to seal against the expected kitchen spills. Counters are solid surfacing made from recycled paper and resin. The tile backsplash contains recycled ceramic material.

Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths
Anyone can make a big kitchen in a big addition. Signature Kitchens Additions & Baths can make a big kitchen in a small addition. It is after all our middle name!
