Adding on to this modern mountain home was complex and rewarding. The nature-loving Bend homeowners wanted to create an outdoor space to better enjoy their spectacular river view. They also wanted to Provide direct access to a covered outdoor space, create a sense of connection between the interior and exterior, add gear storage for outdoor activities, and provide additional bedroom and office space. The Neil Kelly team led by Paul Haigh created a covered deck extending off the living room, re-worked exterior walls, added large 8’ tall French doors for easy access and natural light, extended garage with 3rd bay, and added a bedroom addition above the garage that fits seamlessly into the existing structure.

When it was time for a new hot tub, we changed out the old Trex decking to redwood. The redwood is so much more beautiful than the Trex especially over the long run. Along with the deck, we demolished the block columns and replaced them with red brick to compliment the new redwood railing and tempered glass wall

2015 Photo Contest 3rd Place Winner. $100 gift card goes to Deck Envy. Per Chet Leudtke of Deck Envy, this project is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. While only one deck is seen here, there are multiple levels of decks, and the goal was to not compromise the incredible views. The railing framework consists of 6x6 posts and 3x6 top cap. 1/8” cable infill was secured to the posts with Adjust-a-Bodies with Hanger Bolts at both ends of each run.
