Santa Barbara 2nd Primary Bathroom - Coastal vibes with clean, contemporary esthetic

Retiled shower walls replaced shower doors, bathroom fixtures, toilet, vanity and flooring to give this farmhouse bathroom a much deserved update.

This modern farmhouse bathroom has an extra large vanity with double sinks to make use of a longer rectangular bathroom. The wall behind the vanity has counter to ceiling Jeffrey Court white subway tiles that tie into the shower. There is a playful mix of metals throughout including the black framed round mirrors from CB2, brass & black sconces with glass globes from Shades of Light , and gold wall-mounted faucets from Phylrich. The countertop is quartz with some gold veining to pull the selections together. The charcoal navy custom vanity has ample storage including a pull-out laundry basket while providing contrast to the quartz countertop and brass hexagon cabinet hardware from CB2. This bathroom has a glass enclosed tub/shower that is tiled to the ceiling. White subway tiles are used on two sides with an accent deco tile wall with larger textured field tiles in a chevron pattern on the back wall. We completely remodeled the shower and tub area, adding the same 6"x 6" subway tile throughout, and on the side of the tub. We added a shower niche. We painted the bathroom. We added an infinity glass door. We switched out all the shower and tub hardware for brass, and we re-glazed the tub as well.

From little things, big things grow. This project originated with a request for a custom sofa. It evolved into decorating and furnishing the entire lower floor of an urban apartment. The distinctive building featured industrial origins and exposed metal framed ceilings. Part of our brief was to address the unfinished look of the ceiling, while retaining the soaring height. The solution was to box out the trimmers between each beam, strengthening the visual impact of the ceiling without detracting from the industrial look or ceiling height. We also enclosed the void space under the stairs to create valuable storage and completed a full repaint to round out the building works. A textured stone paint in a contrasting colour was applied to the external brick walls to soften the industrial vibe. Floor rugs and window treatments added layers of texture and visual warmth. Custom designed bookshelves were created to fill the double height wall in the lounge room. With the success of the living areas, a kitchen renovation closely followed, with a brief to modernise and consider functionality. Keeping the same footprint, we extended the breakfast bar slightly and exchanged cupboards for drawers to increase storage capacity and ease of access. During the kitchen refurbishment, the scope was again extended to include a redesign of the bathrooms, laundry and powder room.

This gorgeous lake home sits right on the water's edge. It features a harmonious blend of rustic and and modern elements, including a rough-sawn pine floor, gray stained cabinetry, and accents of shiplap and tongue and groove throughout.

Kowalske Kitchen & Bath designed and remodeled this Delafield master bathroom. The original space had a small oak vanity and a shower insert. The homeowners wanted a modern farmhouse bathroom to match the rest of their home. They asked for a double vanity and large walk-in shower. They also needed more storage and counter space. Although the space is nearly all white, there is plenty of visual interest. This bathroom is layered with texture and pattern. For instance, this bathroom features shiplap walls, pretty hexagon tile, and simple matte black fixtures. You'll find wood floors in the bathroom, something you won't see very often, but they end in an area of tile by the shower, a floating cabinet, and back-lit mirrors.
