We carefully sited the bathroom beneath the shade of the surrounding Olive and Fig trees to keep the space cool, preventing the Trobolo compostable loo from overheating. To the left you can see the afternoon sun breaking through the trees. The way the four different natural materials (three timber, 1 stone) respond to light is encapsulating.

This outdoor living environment with gardens, pool and social areas overlooks the surrounding vineyard, serving as a center for family gatherings and entertaining. The new pool house blends with the existing residence and features changing and bathing rooms, an outdoor kitchen and fire place. Terraced retaining walls contain planter beds for edible gardens. An old sleeping porch is now an inviting dressing room adjacent to a remodeled master bath. the use of antique lighting, a vintage style pedestal sink and antique recessed medicine cabinet bring this room back in time with all the modern conveniences including a wall niche with hidden outlet for recharging electric toothbrushes.

Because the location is in the middle of a 38 acre Texas ranch, curtains are optional. Instead, sturdy bars have been installed to make getting in and out of the antique claw foot bath safe and easy. Large windows and white wood walls give a light and airy look
