This Condo was in sad shape. The clients bought and knew it was going to need a over hall. We opened the kitchen to the living, dining, and lanai. Removed doors that were not needed in the hall to give the space a more open feeling as you move though the condo. The bathroom were gutted and re - invented to storage galore. All the while keeping in the coastal style the clients desired. Navy was the accent color we used throughout the condo. This new look is the clients to a tee.

A Bathroom with a View

Everyone dreams of a luxurious bathroom. But a bath with an enviable city and water view? That’s almost beyond expectation. But this primary bath delivers that and more. The introduction to this oasis is through a reeded glass pocket door, obscuring the actual contents of the room, but allowing an abundance of natural light to lure you in. Upon entering, you’re struck by the expansiveness of the relatively modest footprint. This is attributed to the judicious use of only three materials: slatted wood panels; marble; and glass. Resisting the temptation to add multiple finishes creates a voluminous effect. Slats of rift-cut white oak in a natural finish were custom fabricated into vanity doors and wall panels. The pattern mimics the reeded glass on the entry door. On the floating vanity, the doors have a beveled top edge, thus eliminating the distraction of hardware. Marble is lavished on the floor; the shower enclosure; the tub deck and surround; as well as the custom 6” thick mitered countertop with integral sinks and backsplash. The glass shower door and end wall allows straight sight lines to that all-important view. Tri-view mirrors interspersed with LED lighting prove that medicine cabinets can still be stylish. We expanded the attic of a historic row house to include the owner's suite. The addition involved raising the rear portion of roof behind the current peak to provide a full-height bedroom. The street-facing sloped roof and dormer were left intact to ensure the addition would not mar the historic facade by being visible to passers-by. We adapted the front dormer into a sweet and novel bathroom.

A stunning minimal primary bathroom features marble herringbone shower tiles, hexagon mosaic floor tiles, and niche. We removed the bathtub to make the shower area larger. Also features a modern floating toilet, floating quartz shower bench, and custom white oak shaker vanity with a stacked quartz countertop. It feels perfectly curated with a mix of matte black and brass metals. The simplicity of the bathroom is balanced out with the patterned marble floors.

Simple, tactile and statement. This top floor room had plenty of natural light thanks to the Velux windows. Finishes were a massive part of the interest in this bathroom. The room was so bright anyway, so we thought we’d have fun and play with the black fittings, brushed copper brassware and concrete basin, tying it all together with the most fabulous porcelain terrazzo effect tile. Prior to the renovation, the space wasn’t being used to its best. There were lots of empty areas where product just fitted but didn’t add anything to the room and the Velux windows felt as though they were an issue rather than becoming part of the space.

Combining Japanese influences, a gentle colour palette inspired by one of Italy’s legendary printmakers, and a furniture collection from Scandinavian brands created this cosy abode. Functionality is key within Japandi aesthetic and this can be seen with plenty of storage built around the apartment. The neutral scandi tones are balanced with rich and warm tones of green in the living room and kitchen, creating an interior that warms the soul. The owners’ favourite hotel is a cosy hideaway in Barcelona called the Margot House where surfaces are whitewashed and mixed with light wood textures, naturally inspiring this very Japandi space.
