A transplant from Maryland to New York City, my client wanted a true New York loft-living experience, to honor the history of the Flatiron District but also to make him feel at "home" in his newly adopted city. We replaced all the floors with reclaimed wood, gutted the kitchen and master bathroom and decorated with a mix of vintage and current furnishings leaving a comfortable but open canvas for his growing art collection.

Shower and vanity in master suite. Frameless mirrors side clips, light wood floating vanity with flat-panel drawers and matte black hardware. Double undermount sinks with stone counter. Spacious shower with glass enclosure, rain shower head, hand shower. Floor to ceiling mosaic tiles and mosaic tile floor.

The shower includes dual shower areas, four body spray tiles (two on each side) and a large glass surround keeping the uncluttered theme for the room while still offering privacy with an etched “belly band” around the perimeter. The etching is only on the outside of the glass with the inside being kept smooth for cleaning purposes.
The end result is a bathroom that is luxurious and light, with nothing extraneous to distract the eye. The peaceful and quiet ambiance that the room exudes hit exactly the mark that the clients were looking for.

This spa-inspired bath was created using soft gray colored tiles on the walls and floor complemented with accents of blue and green in the custom crafted pendant lights by award-winning artisan Dereck Marshall from Center Sandwich. These colors are repeated in the glass tile mosaic above the vanity. Tile Showcase in the Boston Design Center provided the tiles which lend a calming ambiance to the bath. Cabinetry is by Cabico with Schaub & Company hardware. Mirrors and upper cabinets are designed to appear as seamless as possible.

Part of the upgrade was a new shower head. We went with a dual one to keep it luxurious and functional.

Complementing the deep blue cabinets, we chose a palette of watery blue accents, including a glass tile vanity wall in a trapezoid pattern that acts as a striking feature in the room. Clean quartz countertops offer low maintenance and allow the tile wall to stand out in its glimmering beauty.

The carefully designed lighting scheme and dark color palette create a sense of intimacy and serenity, ensuring a truly indulgent experience.

This master bathroom was designed to create a spa-like feel. We used a soft natural color palette in combination with a bright white used on the clawfoot tub, wainscotting, vanity, and countertop. Topped with oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and hardware.
