This young married couple enlisted our help to update their recently purchased condo into a brighter, open space that reflected their taste. They traveled to Copenhagen at the onset of their trip, and that trip largely influenced the design direction of their home, from the herringbone floors to the Copenhagen-based kitchen cabinetry. We blended their love of European interiors with their Asian heritage and created a soft, minimalist, cozy interior with an emphasis on clean lines and muted palettes.

This client has been a client with EdenLA since 2010, and this is one of the projects we have done with them through the years. We are in planning phases now of a historical Spanish stunner in Hancock Park, but more on that later. This home reflected our awesome clients' affinity for the modern. A slight sprucing turned into a full renovation complete with additions of this mid century modern house that was more fitting for their growing family. Working with this client is always truly collaborative and we enjoy the end results immensely. With no windows or natural light, we used a combination of artificial light, open space, and white walls to brighten this master bath remodel. Over the white, we layered a sophisticated palette of finishes that embrace color, pattern, and texture: 1) long hex accent tile in “lemongrass” gold from Walker Zanger (mounted vertically for a new take on mid-century aesthetics); 2) large format slate gray floor tile to ground the room; 3) textured 2X10 glossy white shower field tile (can’t resist touching it); 4) rich walnut wraps with heavy graining to define task areas; and 5) dirty blue accessories to provide contrast and interest. This bright blue tropical bathroom highlights the use of local glass tiles in a palm leaf pattern and natural tropical hardwoods. The freestanding vanity is custom made out of tropical Sapele wood, the mirror was custom made to match. The hardware and fixtures are brushed bronze. The floor tile is porcelain.

Bathroom Cabinets in Cherry

We designed this bathroom makeover for an episode of Bath Crashers on DIY. This is how they described the project: "A dreary gray bathroom gets a 180-degree transformation when Matt and his crew crash San Francisco. The space becomes a personal spa with an infinity tub that has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Marble floors and a marble shower kick up the luxury factor, and a walnut-plank wall adds richness to warm the space. To top off this makeover, the Bath Crashers team installs a 10-foot onyx countertop that glows at the flip of a switch." This was a lot of fun to participate in. Note the ceiling mounted tub filler. The Kipling house is a new addition to the Montrose neighborhood. Designed for a family of five, it allows for generous open family zones oriented to large glass walls facing the street and courtyard pool. The courtyard also creates a buffer between the master suite and the children's play and bedroom zones. The master suite echoes the first floor connection to the exterior, with large glass walls facing balconies to the courtyard and street. Fixed wood screens provide privacy on the first floor while a large sliding second floor panel allows the street balcony to exchange privacy control with the study. Material changes on the exterior articulate the zones of the house and negotiate structural loads.

Body sprays are a unique shower feature that can bring your shower that much closer to being an at home spa.

This Mission style guest bath accommodated both guest bedrooms and the great room (hence it's rich red theme instead of blue or green.) The Shaker style cabinets are maple with bronze vine/leaf hardware and the mirror is reminiscent of a folk art frame. The shower curtain is a patchwork, mimicking the quilts on the guest beds.
