Our clients wanted to add on to their 1950's ranch house, but weren't sure whether to go up or out. We convinced them to go out, adding a Primary Suite addition with bathroom, walk-in closet, and spacious Bedroom with vaulted ceiling. To connect the addition with the main house, we provided plenty of light and a built-in bookshelf with detailed pendant at the end of the hall. The clients' style was decidedly peaceful, so we created a wet-room with green glass tile, a door to a small private garden, and a large fir slider door from the bedroom to a spacious deck. We also used Yakisugi siding on the exterior, adding depth and warmth to the addition. Our clients love using the tub while looking out on their private paradise!

On the other side of the stairway is a dreamy basement bathroom that mixes classic furnishings with bold patterns. Green ceramic tile in the shower is both soothing and functional, while Cle Tile in a bold, yet timeless pattern draws the eye. Complimented by a vintage-style vanity from Restoration Hardware and classic gold faucets and finishes, this is a bathroom any guest would love. The bathroom layout remained largely the same, but the space was expanded to allow for a more spacious walk-in shower and vanity by relocating the wall to include a sink area previously part of the adjoining mudroom. With minimal impact to the existing plumbing, this bathroom was transformed aesthetically to create the luxurious experience our homeowners sought. Ample hooks for guests and little extras add subtle glam to an otherwise functional space.

This modern bathroom was done in small glass tile from Lowes and grouted in pale gray. The toilet is from Toto and is a quite flush. The floor is in a white marble along with counter surface. The under mount sink is oval in white porcelain. The shower doors are designed for a walk in shower but used on top of tub gives a extra tall custom look to the room. Fixtures are from Grohe and are finished is polished chrome . Three mirrored cabinets were hung to open up the space and have plenty of storage.

Designer: Katelyn Gilmour Photographer: CasaMokio (Nate Lewis) The finish materials for the space were of utmost priority for our clients. Being that they wanted long term durability as well as a good price point, porcelain materials were hand selected for the wall tile and wood-like flooring tile. Cohesive finish materials echo throughout the space. Accents of honed glass in warms hues bring a touch of whimsy while the plank-like flooring provides the desired rustic design element. 2014 NARI META Gold Award: Monte Sereno Bathroom Remodel
