ASID Design Excellence First Place Residential – Kitchen and Bathroom: Michael Merrill Design Studio was approached three years ago by the homeowner to redesign her kitchen. Although she was dissatisfied with some aspects of her home, she still loved it dearly. As we discovered her passion for design, we began to rework her entire home--room by room, top to bottom.

This Master Bathroom had a lot of angles and dated materials and lacked storage. The drawers under the vanity allow for maximum storage, the clean lines are a welcome change and the steam shower is large enough for two.

Ambiance
This 1940's era bathroom was remodeled and updated. Gas wall heater was removed. New custom floating cabinets replaced the old cabinets. All electrical and plumbing was updated, including Electric Mirror lighted mirrors for the best grooming light. An overhanging lavatory allows for a narrower cabinet in a small space. Linear limestone tiles add a touch of luxury as does the green and copper graphic wallcovering and glass tile accents.

Wyant Architecture
A light filled master bath with a vaulted ceiling is located at the second floor gable end. The vibrant greens and earthy browns of the landscape are mimicked with interior material selections.

This glass block wall was prefabricated in easy to install sections. Each panel is numbered to make the installation easier - almost as easy as putting a puzzle together

The large air tub is a more sanitary option than a traditional jetted bath tub, while giving the user a spa like feeling.
