Gray tones playfulness a kid’s bathroom in Oak Park. This bath was design with kids in mind but still to have the aesthetic lure of a beautiful guest bathroom. The flooring is made out of gray and white hexagon tiles with different textures to it, creating a playful puzzle of colors and creating a perfect anti slippery surface for kids to use. The walls tiles are 3x6 gray subway tile with glossy finish for an easy to clean surface and to sparkle with the ceiling lighting layout. A semi-modern vanity design brings all the colors together with darker gray color and quartz countertop. In conclusion a bathroom for everyone to enjoy and admire.

These homeowners wanted to freshen up their master bath and at the same time, improve it's overall function and retain/accentuate it's vintage qualities. There was nothing wrong with the hex tile floor, toilet, or vintage tub. The toilet was repurposed, the floor was cleaned up, and the tub refinished. Cabinetry and vintage trim was added in critical locations along with a new, taller one-sink vanity. Bringing the non linearity of the wall's backsplash to the floor, this modern bathroom uses a unique hexagonal patterning to ornament the space. With with ring-esque black tiling, the tiling give the square space a more natural feeling in form.

In this project, navy blue painted cabinetry helped to create a modern farmhouse-inspired hall kids bathroom. First, we designed a single vanity, painted with Navy Blue to allow the color to shine in this small bathroom. Next on the opposing walls, we painted a light gray to add subtle interest between the trim and walls. We additionally crafted a complimenting linen closet space with custom cut-outs and a wallpapered back. The finishing touch is the custom hand painted flooring, which mimics a modern black and white tile, which adds a clean, modern farmhouse touch to the room.

Our guest bath features a shower surround of 3 x 6 carrara tiles set in a subway pattern. The framed beadboard wall treatment is made of PVC so should be perfect for the humid bath environment. The floor is basket weave carrara framed with 3 x 6 carrara tiles.

In this update of a 1940's bathroom, old and new were blended by keeping the original tile floor, tub, and medicine cabinets. New subway tile was added to keep the 1940's feel and contemporary elements like the wall panel detail and Marimekko wallpaper help bring this children's and guest into the modern era.
