An updated main, guest bathroom that is not only stylish but functional with built in storage.

This Cardiff home remodel truly captures the relaxed elegance that this homeowner desired. The kitchen, though small in size, is the center point of this home and is situated between a formal dining room and the living room. The selection of a gorgeous blue-grey color for the lower cabinetry gives a subtle, yet impactful pop of color. Paired with white upper cabinets, beautiful tile selections, and top of the line JennAir appliances, the look is modern and bright. A custom hood and appliance panels provide rich detail while the gold pulls and plumbing fixtures are on trend and look perfect in this space. The fireplace in the family room also got updated with a beautiful new stone surround. Finally, the master bathroom was updated to be a serene, spa-like retreat. Featuring a spacious double vanity with stunning mirrors and fixtures, large walk-in shower, and gorgeous soaking bath as the jewel of this space. Soothing hues of sea-green glass tiles create interest and texture, giving the space the ultimate coastal chic aesthetic.

This warm and inviting space has great industrial flair. We love the contrast of the black cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and accessories against the bright warm tones in the tile. Pebble tile was used as accent through the space, both in the niches in the tub and shower areas as well as for the backsplash behind the sink. The vanity is front and center when you walk into the space from the master bedroom. The framed medicine cabinets on the wall and drawers in the vanity provide great storage. The deep soaker tub, taking up pride-of-place at one end of the bathroom, is a great place to relax after a long day. A walk-in shower at the other end of the bathroom balances the space. The shower includes a rainhead and handshower for a luxurious bathing experience. The black theme is continued into the shower and around the glass panel between the toilet and shower enclosure. The shower, an open, curbless, walk-in, works well now and will be great as the family grows up and ages in place.

Our clients had been in their home since the early 1980’s and decided it was time for some updates. We took on the kitchen, two bathrooms and a powder room. The primary objectives for the powder room were to update the materials and provide some storage in the small space. It was also important to the homeowners to have materials that would be easy to maintain over the long term. A Kohler tailored vanity and coordinating medicine cabinet provide ample storage for the small room. The dark wood vanity and textured wallpaper add contrast and texture to the home’s soft gray pallet. The integrated sink top and ceramic floor tile were budget-friendly and low maintenance. The homeowners were not too sure about the patterned floor tile but once installed it became one of their favorite elements of the project! The original bathroom on the main floor had an odd Jack-and-Jill layout with two toilets, two vanities and only a single tub/shower (in vintage mint green, no less). With some creative modifications to existing walls and the removal of a small linen closet, we were able to divide the space into two functional bathrooms – one of them now a true en suite master. In the master bathroom we chose a soothing palette of warm grays – the geometric floor tile was laid in a random pattern adding to the modern minimalist style. The slab front vanity has a mid-century vibe and feels at place in the home. Storage space is always at a premium in smaller bathrooms so we made sure there was ample countertop space and an abundance of drawers in the vanity. While calming grays were welcome in the bathroom, a saturated pop of color adds vibrancy to the master bedroom and creates a vibrant backdrop for furnishings.

This stunning bathroom retains the black & white motif with a choice of Victorian floor tiles, with white rectangular wall tiles behind the bespoke vanity unit and toilet. For the bath, black rectangular tiles have been chosen.
