This penthouse apartment has glorious 270-degree views, and when we engaged to complete the extensive renovation, we knew that this apartment would be a visual masterpiece once finished. So we took inspiration from the colours featuring in many of their art pieces, which we bought into the kitchen colour, soft furnishings and wallpaper. We kept the bathrooms a more muted palette using a pale green on the cabinetry. The MC Lozza dining table, custom-designed wall units and make-up area added uniqueness to this space.

A small space deserves just as much attention as a large space. This powder room is long and narrow. We didn't have the luxury of adding a vanity under the sink which also wouldn't have provided much storage since the plumbing would have taken up most of it. Using our creativity we devised a way to introduce corner/upper storage while adding a counter surface to this small space through custom millwork. When our client wanted the design of their master bath to honor their Japanese heritage and emulate a Japanese bathing experience, they turned to us. They had very specific needs and ideas they needed help with — including blending Japanese design elements with their traditional Northwest-style home. The shining jewel of the project? An Ofuro soaking tub where the homeowners could relax, contemplate and meditate. This barrier free (curbless) shower was designed for easy access. The perfect solution for the elderly or anyone who wants to enter the shower without any issues. The dark gray concrete look floor tile extends uninterrupted into the shower. Satin nickel fixtures and a teak shower stool provide some contrast. The shower has a curbless entry and a floating seat. A large niche makes it easy to reach items while either sitting or standing. There are 3 shower options; a rain shower from the ceiling, a hand held by the seat, another head that adjust on a bar. Barn style glass door and a towel warmer close at hand. Luxurious, sophisticated and eclectic as many of the spaces the homeowners lived in abroad. There is a large luxe curbless shower, a private water closet, fireplace and TV. They also have a walk-in closet with abundant storage full of special spaces. After you shower you can dry off with toasty warm towels from the towel. warmer. This master suite is now a uniquely personal space that functions brilliantly for this worldly couple who have decided to make this home there final destination. The client wanted a spa-like elegant En Suite bathroom with no bath and an extra long walk-in glass shower. The first thing we changed was the bathroom door (always in the way) to a practical hide-away pocket door. We designed a custom wall-mounted vanity and linen closet, recommended all the tiles, plumbing, decoration, colour palette and finishes as well as the lighting. The floors are heated for greater comfort.

This primary bath has plenty of natural light but to add additional ambience, mirrored medicine cabinets are finished with LED lights that adjust to lighting needs.

Project from design to Completion

The master bathroom feels bright and spacious with light colored tile, frameless shower glass, and plenty of natural light. The custom vanity in a deep wood stain adds warmth.
