Darci Hether New York
This three-story Westhampton Beach home designed for family get-togethers features a large entry and open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room. The kitchen was gut-renovated to merge seamlessly with the living room. For worry-free entertaining and clean-up, we used lots of performance fabrics and refinished the existing hardwood floors with a custom greige stain. A palette of blues, creams, and grays, with a touch of yellow, is complemented by natural materials like wicker and wood. The elegant furniture, striking decor, and statement lighting create a light and airy interior that is both sophisticated and welcoming, for beach living at its best, without the fuss!

It's hard to believe this was once a small, drab, 50's-era tract home. Our client, an artist, loved the location but wanted a modern, unique look with more space for her to work. We added over 2,000 square feet of living space including a studio with its own bathroom and a laundry/potting room. The cramped old-fashioned kitchen was opened up to the living area to create a high-ceiling great room. Outside, a new driveway, patio and walkway incorporate brightly colored surfaces as a contrast to the abundant greenery of the garden.

The granite cobblestone apron provides an interesting transition of materials from the asphalt driveway to the natural geometric bluestone walkway.

The lanai serves as a second great room. A wicker sofa and matching armchairs overlook the ocean view. Blue and white pillows decorate the outdoor furniture and continue the beach house theme used throughout the home. The coral motif on the rug compliments the throw pillows and the cream colored cushions ground the space, the outdoor dining chairs are built out of recycled boat wood. A shell chandelier hangs above the teak table. On the far side of the lanai an orange swing bed hangs next to some red floor poufs.

A 14′ x 10′ retractable roof in Harbor-Time Alpine White fabric was customized to fit a pergola in Indiana. The structure and roof duo ensures the homeowners always have clear sightlines through their front window.

The plants are loving this rainy weather! And the stone couldn't look more beautiful. Desert quartzite forms the patio and granite is used to create the stone seat wall.
