Although small in size, the kitchen feels open and airy, with an ocean view. The white cabinets and beveled glass wall tile reflects the water and beach feeling in a contemporary and sophisticated style.

This cozy lake cottage skillfully incorporates a number of features that would normally be restricted to a larger home design. A glance of the exterior reveals a simple story and a half gable running the length of the home, enveloping the majority of the interior spaces. To the rear, a pair of gables with copper roofing flanks a covered dining area that connects to a screened porch. Inside, a linear foyer reveals a generous staircase with cascading landing. Further back, a centrally placed kitchen is connected to all of the other main level entertaining spaces through expansive cased openings. A private study serves as the perfect buffer between the homes master suite and living room. Despite its small footprint, the master suite manages to incorporate several closets, built-ins, and adjacent master bath complete with a soaker tub flanked by separate enclosures for shower and water closet. Upstairs, a generous double vanity bathroom is shared by a bunkroom, exercise space, and private bedroom. The bunkroom is configured to provide sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people. The rear facing exercise has great views of the rear yard through a set of windows that overlook the copper roof of the screened porch below. Putting cabinetry along the back wall of our Condo project would have looked clumsy butted up against the window. Instead we made this otherwise awkward corner shine with a striking marble splash back to the ceiling. Keeping the upper cabinets white (which keeps the space open and spacious) adding a splash of colour below and hint of timber and brass means that this small kitchen is not small on style.

More storage topped the wish list for this 1950's remodel. Since the homeowners both liked to cook, they need storage for their many small cooking appliances and large collection of spices, coffees and teas. The opening to the kitchen was widened, the back door was also replaced with a new wider dutch door, and a new raised Trex deck was added outside. Designed by Audry Cordero Jim Brady Photography

With a playful backsplash, this amazing space appeals to the owners of this home and their young inhabitants. Kudos to Cindy Kelly Kitchen Design of Beach Haven, NJ for her excellent work.

La cocina se planteo con la misma filosofía, formando parte integrada en el espacio del salón, puede estar totalmente independizada, mediante una gran puerta corredera y una ventana de cierre vertical sobre la barra de desayunos.
