We fully furnished and designed this remodeled Bedroom and bath to be an elegant feminine space for the daughter of the home.

This large ground floor bedroom has only one easterly facing window, so after lunchtime it lacks natural daylight and feels dark. A complete overhall was required, and the client gave the designer free rein, with a brief that it should be restful and pretty, yet chic without being overtly bling. The colours of a subtle blush pink for the walls and grey flooring were agreed upon and it was noted that for now the existing sofa and bed would be retained. A new herringbone Karndene floor with statement design edge had been installed in the hallway by Global Flooring Studio so this was continued unto the room to add to the flow of the home. A bespoke set of wardrobes was commissioned from Simply Bespoke Interiors with the internal surfaces matching the flooring for a touch of class. These were given the signature height of a Corbridge Interior Design set of wardrobes, to maximise on storage and impact, with the usual LED lighting installed behind the cornice edge to cast a glow across the ceiling. White shutters from Shuttercraft Newcastle (with complete blackout mechanisms) were incorporated give privacy, as well as a peaceful feel to the room when next to the blush paint and Muraspec wallpaper. New full length Florence radiators were selected for their traditional style with modern lines, plus their height in the room was befitting a very high ceiling, both visually next to the shutters and for the BTU output. Ceiling roses, rings and coving were put up, with the ceiling being given our favoured design treatment of continuing the paint onto the surface while picking out the plasterwork in white. The pieces de resistence are the dimmable crystal chandeliers, from Cotterell & Co: They are big, modern and not overly bling, but ooze both style and class immeasurably, as the outwardly growing U shaped crystals spiral in sleek lines to create sculpted works of art which also scatter light in a striated manner over the ceiling. Pink and Grey soft furnishings finish the setting, together with some floating shelves painted in the same colour as the walls, so focus is drawn to the owner's possessions. Some chosen artwork is as yet to be incorporated.

We used a blush pink on the top portion of the walls, white wainscoting on the bottom, walnut colored engineered wood floors, installed a pink chandelier, and matched it all with pink and white herringbone curtains and area rugs.

The girl’s bedroom is pretty in pink with this alan campbell wallpaper. Savannah stripe by Christopher Maya covers the headboard, available at Holland and Sherry. A juju hat over the headboard is a classic Christopher Maya touch that adds an elegant touch to any bedroom. In the girl's room, a desk and chair from Chelsea Editions adds a bit of country charm and artwork from Rifle Paper Co. adds a bit of whimsy to the room, accented over a green mid century dresser. This little girls bedroom started out as a playroom before she was born. You can still see remnants of the former room in the carpet tiles and built-in toy storage. We began the transformation with a pink ceiling that runs down the wall about 18", grey walls below to help dilute the brightness a little and provide a backdrop for other pops of color. This antique bed was drug out of her great-grandmothers attic, as well as the dresser and dressing table. They were all given some much needed love with bright paint colors to match the little girls personality. A window seat with toy storage below was fixed with a purple seat cushion, throw pillows, and a glass bird in a pink birdcage. Wrapping paper was glued below the window seat and on the cabinet doors as wall paper to provide a little pattern in the room. Original kids artwork as well as calendar photos are framed throughout the room. A body pillow creates a comfortable headboard and a colorful, butterfly pattern (which is where most of the colors for the room were pulled) adorn the bed with all white bedding.

This Parisian paradise was designed for a very special young girl. Her Mother contacted Greene Designs looking for someone to create the room her daughter had been dreaming about for years. Due to an accident when she was an infant she has had to endure hundreds of surgeries over her life. When I heard her story I knew she was deserving of something wonderful. Her Mother and I set out to create a room that has a touch of Parisian sophistication (a place they hope to visit soon), and the fun and whimsy of a pre-teen’s room. This bedroom includes a daybed with a trundle perfect for sleepovers, a charming nightstand with a bit of “bling”, a vanity where she can do her makeup, a dresser with a mirror, and a chandelier. The paint and accessories pulled the room together completing the Parisian design. I was so happy to be chosen to design a room for such a fun, sweet, and courageous young lady.
