Big Rock Landscaping
Beautiful modern home in the hills of Lehi, Utah. Gorgeous views accented by tasteful modern design and details.
Juxtapose Design Build
During excavation for this new modern home, large granite boulders rose to the surface from the primordial hillside. Instead of displacing these monoliths from the site from which they were created, they were arranged to define space. A circle of boulders stand guard around a custom built fire pit, providing protection from the wind while offering a place to climb or sit. The extended landscape view from the lawn is kept intact by the introduction of a ha-ha, a traditional landscape feature, that hides the productive garden and keeps it from breaking the view. Native and drought tolerant plantings hug the outer edges of the property for minimal use of irrigation and to visually blend into the surrounding hillside. This project also features a custom ipe bench with integrated lighting, waterjet address numbers with night lighting, and hardscape that complements the form and materiality of the architecture to create a harmonious transition into the horizontal plane.

LandArt
This project was completed in conjunction with the construction of the home. The home’s architect was looking for someone who could design and build a new driveway, front entrance, walkways, patio, fencing, and plantings.
The gardens were designed for the homeowner who had a real appreciation for gardening and was looking for variety and colour. The plants are all perennials that are relatively low maintenance while offering a wide variety of colours, heights, shapes and textures. For the hardscape, we used a Mondrian slab interlock for the main features and added a natural stone border for architectural detail.
SYNLawn
Talk about a spectacular creation! Our SYNLawn artificial grass, with its diagonal lines in the driveway, helps to seamlessly carry the color green across the front of this home in Hawaii. The eye is drawn from the colorful blooms on the left to the towering palm trees on the right. © SYNLawn artificial grass - all rights reserved.

The stone faced wall in front of this contemporary home creates interest and provides a visual separation between the street and the front of the home. The large deciduous trees works to provide shade in the summertime but allows additional light and warmth in the winter time.
Pro-Land Landscape Construction Inc.
Pro-Land was hired in 2011 to construct both the front and back landscapes, as well as manage all trades required to complete the scope. In the front we constructed the decorative entry walls, retaining walls on the side of the driveway and the flagstone accents throughout the driveway and walkway.
In the backyard patios, retaining walls and feature pieces were all constructed with natural stone. There is plenty to catch your eye, a custom fireplace sits next to the dining area. Cedar privacy screens with awnings sit on either side of the pool. And a large water feature edges the back of the yard, spilling water into the pool.
This Project was awarded a 2012 Landscape Ontario Award of Excellence
